A fuel injector clamp takes the form of a generally oval-shaped ring manufactured from pipe so that the side walls on the minor axis enclose flats on opposite sides of the injector body and the end walls on he major axis each encircle a respective fixing bolt. The end walls encircle more than 180 degrees of the circumference of the bolt. The side walls adjacent each end are pinched inwards towards one another, but are not fully brought together. Encirclement of the fixing bolts in this way serves to increase the contact area between the bolts and clamp to ensure improved clamping, and also produces an inherent resistance to spreading of the side walls. The lower edges of the side walls are each formed with a pair of indentations so that the portion therebetween is arcuate and forms a point contact with a respective bearing shoulder on the injector body. These indentations are formed by deformation of the edges of the side wall so as to avoid machining. Thus a tiltable clamp can be provided in a simple manner from a uniform width of pipe without involving any material waste.

The invention relates to engine building, in particular, to fuel injection equipment of internal combustion engines, and can be used to attach fuel injectors to the cylinder heads of engines.
The purpose of the invention is to simplify the construction and improve reliability by making a clamp from a pipe billet with shaping the working surfaces with the help of deformation, as well as increasing the rigidity of the end walls by increasing the angle of the fastening bolt,

The clip for the fuel injector 1, comprising a housing 2 with an inlet fitting 3, flats 4 and a collar 5 to which the gun 7 is attached with a nut 6, is made in the form of an oval ring 8 (FIG. 3) made of a pipe, the walls 9 along the small axis A-A cover the flats 4 supported on the flange 5, made on the opposite side walls of the body 2 of the nozzle 1, and the end walls 10 of the clamp along the major axis B-B cover the corresponding fastening bolts} 1.

Each lower edge 12 of the side walls 9 is provided with a pair of recesses 13, a section between which is curved and forms a contact point with a corresponding support shoulder 5 on the core 2 of the injector J.
The depth of the shadow 13 is made by deforming the edges 12 of the side walls 9.
The side walls 9 provide a predetermined angular position of the nozzle in the engine head 14, with the side walls 9 in the transitional place 15 inclined towards each other, which ensures that the bolt 11 is at an angle of more than 180% but not less than 360 ° with the formation of a partially closed socket 16 which includes bolt 11, sockets 16 hold bolts 11 and guide them into place during assembly.

The upper and lower edges 12 of the clip are parallel, and the contact of the clip with the nozzle is made at points between curvilinear sections of the lower edge 12 -c of the planes of the flanges 5 opposite the nozzle body 2. The distance between the recesses 13 on each side of both edges 12 is equal to or slightly larger than the width of the shoulder 5, which ensures that the clamp deviates in a certain angular range without touching the flat part of the lower edge 12 with the edges of the shoulder 5, and the curvilinear portion of the lower edge 12 overlaps in the process of fastening the clamp along the plane of the flange 5, ensuring a constant downward force of the clamping force.
The upper and lower edges 12 are identical in shape and size, which allows the clamp to be turned over during use.
Option clamp (figure 4) is made with a curved section of the lower edge 12, protruding beyond. Such a clamp is intended for nozzles with a reduced support shoulder 5 and can be obtained by machining the flat part of the lower edge 12 of the main clamp variant (figure 1).
The clamp functions as follows.
A nozzle is installed on the nozzle installed in the engine head 14, and the fastening bolts 11 are put on the clamp and the bolts 1 are inserted into its sockets 16. Then the bolts 1 are fixed evenly in the socket, ensuring its sealing in the engine head 14.
The disassembly of the nozzle attachment assembly is carried out in reverse order.
The proposed clamp for a fuel injector provides a simplified design, which makes it possible to apply wasteless technology of its manufacture from a tubular billet without the use of complex machining operations, shaping it by compressing the billet, and also increasing the reliability of the injector mounting unit due to eliminating the divergence of the side walls under load.
